"Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.

See, I am doing a new thing!

Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?

I am making a way in the wilderness

and streams in the wasteland."

Isaiah 43:18-19, NIV

Are we missing out on the light of the living moment? When our minds travel between past, present, future, and virtual, we end up following time rather than living in it.

The time we follow often leads us to places curated by others. We find ourselves mesmerized with news stories of a broken-hearted planet. And attached to movies, music and video games that embody a multiplicity of greed, selfishness, and evil. In a sense, we have been trained to follow darkness.

As the darkness deepens, though, light becomes all the more discernable. That's why your presence is needed, in the here and now. Not just to follow the glow of an intensifying light, but to be a part of the blaze that will illuminate the night.
