waiting

A generation witnesses the rebirth of Israel, against all odds. They notice prophecies in the Bible are coming to pass. They look up. They see patterns in the sky that might connect to the return of Jesus. Some of them begin watching and waiting for His return. They wonder about how to prepare. Are they really ready to meet God? Have they repented and received God's grace? Are they living holy lives? So they unpack their earthly lives and open their hearts to heaven. But they wonder when and how things will happen. They are used to knowing things in advance. They have technology that tells them almost everything. They are not used to not knowing. Some of them panic. Some of them make predictions. And then some of them remember. They don't need to know. God looks after them.

They get to watch the signs, not knowing. They wait for God. And God waits for them.

"Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord.

Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth,

and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain."

James 5:7 KJV
