Christmas Cancelled, in Bethlehem

Bethlehem, 2023 AD, and Christmas celebrations are, for the first time, cancelled. Apparently, locals are not in the mood for celebration because of the ongoing war. (i)

Those familiar with the earthly life of Jesus will recognize Bethlehem as His birthplace. He was born into an unwelcoming world. A gross darkness, perhaps not so different from today.

His birth was supernatural and accompanied by heavenly celebrations - a star, and a multitude of angels praising God. Shepherds and wise men came to worship Jesus, inspired by God.

Worldly Christmas festivities often mix biblical truth, pagan traditions and even fictitious characters, opening the door for anyone to add or subtract according to their own beliefs, moods, motives, or even current fashions and trends.

Satan, as Santa, has characterized the season as a time of magic, enchantment, and fulfillment of physical passions and desires, robbing so many of the perfect peace and heaven-sent joy they can experience every day, even in times of war.

As the artificial Christmas lights are turned off in Bethlehem, let's pray the true light of the Saviour of the world will dawn in the hearts of many. He is risen, and returning. Glory to God in the highest.

"And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse;

and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True,

and in righteousness he doth judge and make war."

Revelation 19:11 KJV
